5. வடிவுகண்டு கொண்ட

வடிவுகண்டு கொண்ட பெண்ணை மற்றொருவன் நத்தினால்
விடுவனோ அவனை முன்னை வெட்ட வேண்டும் என்பனே
நாடுவன் வந்து அழைத்த போது நாறும் இந்த நல்லுடல்
சுடலை மட்டும் கொண்டு போய்த் தோட்டிகைக் கொடுப்பரே.

வடிவுகண்டு கொண்ட பெண்ணை – The woman whom one took admiring her shapely body,  மற்றொருவன் நத்தினால் – if another desires,  விடுவனோ அவனை – How will I leave?, முன்னை வெட்ட வேண்டும் என்பனே – ‘I have to first cut him in pieces’ you will say,  நாடுவன் வந்து அழைத்த போது – When the Judge [Death] comes and calls, நாறும் இந்த நல்லுடல் – this beautiful body will stink,  சுடலை மட்டும் கொண்டு போய்த் – Carrying till the burning pyre,  தோட்டிகைக் கொடுப்பரே – they will hand it over to the man there [working in the cremation ground].

You take a woman into your life admiring her shapely body and if another man desires her you are enraged.  ‘How can I let this be?  I shall tear him to pieces!’, you swear.   But her body that you are obsessed with, you would hand over to the cremator without a question once Death calls on her and her beautiful body starts rotting.
